Banksia Impact Pty Ltd, trading as Humans of Purpose (“Humans of Purpose”, “we”, “us”, “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use humansofpurpose.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

If you have a question about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at the email above.
2. The information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in a form, book a call, register your interest in an event, or email us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name and email address, and anything you choose to include in a message. Event registrations and bookings may collect additional details needed to attend.
Information we collect automatically. When you visit the site, we and our service providers collect some technical information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, and how you interact with it. This helps us understand how the site is used and measure how our work reaches people.
We do not deliberately collect sensitive information through the website, and we ask that you don’t send it to us through web forms.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We use cookies and similar tools for three purposes:
- Essential — to make the site work (for example, remembering that you’ve dismissed the cookie notice).
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how the site is used (pages, sessions, general location, device) so we can improve it.
- Advertising and measurement — the Meta (Facebook) Pixel helps us measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and reach relevant audiences. It records actions such as visiting a page or submitting a form.
These tools are loaded through Google Tag Manager.
Because we’re based in Australia and our audience is primarily Australian, analytics and advertising cookies are active by default, and we let you know with an on-site notice. You can control or remove cookies at any time:
- Adjust or block cookies in your browser settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Manage Meta’s use of your data in your Facebook/Instagram ad preferences and Meta’s privacy settings.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries and provide the services you ask for;
- arrange calls, events and registrations you request;
- send you updates only if you’ve asked to hear from us, and let you unsubscribe at any time;
- understand and improve how the site and our content perform; and
- run and measure our marketing, including advertising on Meta platforms.
5. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and our work, and only as needed:
- Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) — website analytics.
- Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel) — advertising measurement and audiences.
- HubSpot — to receive and manage enquiries and bookings made through our forms and scheduler, and to manage our contact records.
- Humanitix — to process event registrations and ticketing where you sign up for an event.
- Podbean — to deliver our podcast audio.
- Kinsta — website hosting (server logs).
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including Google, Meta and HubSpot) are based in, or store data in, countries outside Australia — primarily the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work with reputable providers and limit access to information to those who need it.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
8. Your rights and choices
You can:
- ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that’s inaccurate or out of date;
- unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message; and
- manage cookies as described in section 3.
To make a request, email us at admin@humansofpurpose.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
9. Third-party links and embedded content
Our site links to and embeds content from other services — for example podcast players, event pages, and our social channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts). Those services have their own privacy policies, and this policy doesn’t cover them. We encourage you to read theirs.
10. Children’s privacy
The site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
11. Visitors from the EU and UK
If you access the site from the European Union or United Kingdom, additional rights may apply to you under the GDPR (including the right to object to certain processing). Contact us at the email above and we’ll work with you to honour those rights.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
13. How to contact us, and complaints
For any privacy question or request, email admin@humansofpurpose.com.
If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
