Becoming a B Corp: The Work That Happens Out of Sight
For a long time, we’ve been working towards something that didn’t lend itself to a countdown clock or a launch tease.
No rebrand.
No shiny campaign.
Just months of scrutiny, measurement, questioning, and recalibration - the kind of work that happens mostly out of sight.
Which is to say: this isn’t the sort of news that arrives with sprays of confetti. It arrives with something quieter, and far more enduring - pride, accountability, and substance.
We’re deeply proud to share that Humans of Purpose is now a Certified B Corporation.
Why B Corp mattered to us
Humans of Purpose was founded as an impact business from the very beginning — shaped by lived experience, deep listening, and a belief that business can, and must, be a force for good.
From day one, we’ve believed that:
stories shape systems,
economic participation is foundational to dignity and recovery,
and accountability matters more than aspiration.
Working through the B Corp certification process wasn’t about changing who we are. It was about proving - to ourselves, and to others - that our values are embedded not just in our storytelling, but in our systems, policies, governance, and decisions.
B Corp asks hard questions.
It doesn’t take your word for it.
It demands evidence across how you treat people, how you govern your business, how you engage suppliers and clients, how you consider your environmental footprint, and how your business model contributes to - or extracts from - the world around it.
For us, that rigour mattered.
What certification really represents
Joining the global B Corp community places us alongside thousands of businesses worldwide choosing to measure what matters, to be transparent about trade-offs, and to use their influence responsibly.
It’s a milestone - but it’s also a responsibility we take seriously.
Certification isn’t a finish line. It’s a commitment to ongoing improvement, public accountability, and making decisions that centre people and planet alongside profit.
And it sits alongside something equally important to us: our impact reporting.
Releasing our 2025 Impact Report
To mark this moment, we’re also releasing our 2025 Impact Report - a detailed, evidence-based account of the real-world outcomes created through our integrated agency, academy, and community model.
This report isn’t a glossy summary of good intentions.
It’s grounded in data, lived experience, and a clear theory of change.
At its heart is a simple truth: leaving an abusive relationship is an early step, not the finish line. Long-term recovery requires safety, community, meaningful work, and financial independence - not just short-term crisis responses.
The impact behind the certification
Behind every metric in the report is a human story - fear softening into voice, isolation giving way to belonging, and self-doubt slowly replaced by agency.
Just a few highlights from the year:
$621,000 in wages paid through our digital agency to women who came through our Academy after experiencing domestic and family violence
29 women survivors employed, with the majority securing ongoing, sustained roles
A 67% overall increase in personal wellbeing, measured across safety, belonging, financial security, relationships, and future confidence
These outcomes didn’t happen by accident. They’re the result of a deliberately designed ecosystem - one that blends trauma-informed digital skills training, mentoring, community support, and real paid work in a supportive agency environment.
It’s also why our digital agency model matters. Every client project we deliver directly enables paid employment, skill-building, and economic participation for women rebuilding their lives.
Growth with intention
Over the past year alone, our impact has grown significantly:
Our Academy community expanded to more than 400 women, supporting over 600 children
Live digital skills training increased by more than 50%
Employment hours delivered through the agency reached 11,184 hours in 2025 alone
But growth, for us, is never the goal in itself.
We grow because the need is vast - and because meaningful partnerships, courageous clients, and aligned supporters continue to walk beside us.
What comes next
Becoming a Certified B Corporation sharpens our focus for the years ahead.
Our vision is clear:
to be Australia’s leading digital agency where creativity and technology meet real-world impact
to catalyse economic inclusion for survivors of domestic and family violence
to support more than 1,000 women and their children into safer, more stable futures
and to build a business ecosystem that is truly sustainable — financially, socially, and ethically
B Corp gives us a framework to keep asking better questions, measuring what matters, and holding ourselves accountable as we scale.
Join us on the journey
We’re celebrating this milestone across Instagram and LinkedIn with a short video - if it gives you a giggle, we’d love you to share it, comment, and follow along as our impact journey continues.
We’re also inviting our community to Stories: Wired for Impact, an evening exploring the stories, systems, and human outcomes behind this work.
Because certification matters - but the lives changed matter more.
Thank you to our clients, partners, mentors, supporters, and fellow travellers. This community is built on trust, courage, and a shared belief that women deserve safety, dignity, and real economic choice.
We’re just getting started.
